Privacy Policy
This policy explains what personal data this website collects, why, and what you can do about it. The short version: the site only collects what you choose to send through the contact form.

1. Who is responsible for your data
This is the personal website of Syed Noor Ahmed, based in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia ("I", "me"). I am responsible for personal data collected through this site. It is a personal site and is not operated by, or on behalf of, my employer.
2. What data is collected
- Contact form: your name, email address, company (optional), the topic you pick and your message.
- Technical data: like any website, the hosting provider receives your IP address, browser type and the pages you request, so it can deliver the site and keep it secure.
- Choices stored in your browser: your cookie choice and the last Skills tab you opened. These stay on your device.
I do not knowingly collect data from children, and I ask you not to include sensitive information (such as health or financial details) in messages.
3. How your data is used
- To read and reply to your message. The legal basis is your consent when you send the form.
- To keep the site running and secure, based on a legitimate interest in operating a working website.
Your data is not sold, rented or used for advertising.
4. Cookies and browser storage
The site does not set advertising or tracking cookies. It uses your browser's local storage for these essential purposes:

If analytics are added in future, they will load only after you choose "Accept all", and this table will be updated. You can change your choice at any time with in the footer, or by clearing your browser's site data.
5. Who your data is shared with
- Form service: messages are delivered through a third-party form service (for example Formspree), which passes them on to me by email.
- Hosting provider: stores and serves the website files and may keep standard server logs.
- Authorities: only where the law requires it.
These providers may process data outside Saudi Arabia. Where that happens, I rely on providers that apply appropriate safeguards.
6. How long data is kept
Messages are kept only as long as needed to handle your enquiry, and deleted within 24 months of the last contact unless a longer period is required by law. Server logs are kept according to the hosting provider's standard settings.
7. Your rights
Under the Saudi Personal Data Protection Law (PDPL), and similar laws where they apply to you, you can ask to:
- be told what data I hold about you and how it is used;
- get a copy of your data;
- correct or update it;
- have it deleted;
- withdraw your consent at any time, without affecting earlier processing.
To make a request, send a message through the contact page with the topic "Something else" and the word "Privacy" at the start. I will reply within 30 days. You may also complain to the Saudi Data & AI Authority (SDAIA).
8. Changes to this policy
I may update this policy when the site changes. The date at the top shows the latest version.
